When a crisis occurs, there must always be expert leaders to be able to manage the situation. Crises can also create opportunities for a company to succeed. The Covid-19 crisis has also affected people’s lives in the past year, resulting in a variety of personal experiences of illness, job loss and insecurity, which is called a crisis and is experienced by many individuals.
Tough and critical situations can happen for any business owner or employee. Let’s just accept that the existence of these problems is a sign of dynamism. It does not matter if you are a beginner or an experienced manager; whichever it is, in difficult situations, you must do your best to motivate your employees and be there for them.By doing this, you can get through that difficult stage really well. The need for management in difficult and critical situations. Vulnerability for group management can have three parts: self-confidence, self-awareness and accessibility, so having these three characteristics is necessary to manage and lead a group in difficult situations.

A leader with real confidence can accept that there are insecurities. He has to admit that he is not aware of everything and as a result he may make mistakes. A self-confident, security-building leader can manage groups, challenge the ideas of different people, and work with them pretty well. Competent leaders and managers always have a plan; they hire experienced people to run their program, and then monitor tasks to manage them and change them as needed. They also know that things always do not go well and as planned and that there will be unexpected events that may ruin the whole program.
When difficulties arise, the meaning of power does not change for them, but they try to make unexpected decisions at the same time, and sometimes they do not share these decisions with anyone. They show their humanity to people with complete transparency and try to create an environment of trust around them.
A self-aware leader can pursue the truth honestly, as well as weigh his or her capabilities and try different perspectives.When employees know there are different perspectives, a safe environment for innovation is created. A culture of vulnerability can also bring them to their place and enable people to free themselves from the trap of insecurity and be able to take all kinds of risks to advance their work.
Not all human beings are perfect. Everyone has flaws, so we as human beings sometimes experience frustration, failure, and suffering. All human beings who lead others also have experiences such failure, so they are more likely to make mistakes. That’s why they need to have people at their disposal, sometimes leaving them in control of things and maximizing their ability to communicate.

The people who lead the group need a very high level of intellectual maturity in times of crisis in order to overcome their fears, be able to manage their daily activities, and have a broad horizon; all of this requires a long-term perspective. Large companies and firms have leaders and managers who always expect the greatest rewards for themselves and others in the long run. In general, being a successful leader and manager in a business requires patience to hear different ideas and accept creativity. They need to know the value of long-term goals and wait for them. It is true that crises like Covid-19 can worry them, but they need to know where they are going and where they are going at all times, even in difficult situations. This may be a cross-cutting crisis or a sudden workload; however, in such situations, it is really difficult to do something to keep our team motivated and focused. Consider situations where you have to ask your team for more work. According to experts, this situation causes some members to feel incompetent or embarrassed. This is where as a manager you need to use motivational methods and prevent them from stirring up these feelings.
- Evaluate the situation
If you feel you have a problem and you are not sure what or who caused it, you need to take the time to think about it. Do not blame others for this problem and evaluate these problems in yourself and spend a little more time for it. Examine external factors that are sometimes out of control. See and consider the internal factors as well which is the case in a crisis. For example, an external factor is when you park your car outside and someone crashes into it. Certainly you were not at fault for creating such problems yourself and there was nothing you could do to prevent it. The current pandemic was not your fault and it wasn’t your employees’ fault either so you cannot solve it but you can come up with solutions that help you with your work.
Internal factor means, for example, when you do not wake up with a phone alarm and arrive late for work. As a result, you have to take responsibility for this mistake. Combined factors are present when both you and uncontrollable factors are involved.
- Find the signs
You have the ability to understand people’s emotions, so use it. You can tell by their faces or the way they speak whether they are anxious or not.The biggest threat is when members are silent. This indicates that employees have lost motivation and purpose and do not feel well. Talk to your team. Ask them: Are things going well? What do we need to get the job done? What are the obstacles that need to be removed?

The good news is that sometimes difficult, sensitive and stressful situations can be useful learning opportunities. It turns out that everything is fine when everyone is busy and motivated. The problem is that the situation is not always the same. Just remember that if there are a lot of critical situations and the team is always falling, you have to answer the question, are the members doing their job properly?
